Our Members

IABH members believe that Substance Use Disorder and Mental Illness prevention, treatment and recovery services should be available to all Illinoisans in need, regardless of ability to pay.

Our members are leaders in the field of addiction, prevention, and mental health promotion, treatment, and recovery services.  Their highest priority is helping their clients lead healthy lives, free from addiction and/or mental illness.  These members adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards, and specifically believe:

  • Programs and services should be implemented based on proven methods and best practices.

  • Services should be accessible, appropriate, accountable, culturally responsive, gender specific, and developmentally appropriate.

  • Family members are also affected by mental illness and addiction and deserve services.

  • Individual agencies in conjunction with the entire behavioral health field are enhanced when working collaboratively through IABH.

  • The reduction of behavioral health disorders in communities requires a continuum of services from primary prevention through treatment and subsequent recovery support.
